Formed in 2016, The Viable had previously played in the garage as a covers band but found we were more interested in creating originals.
Three months after forming, our live debut was at the Ipswich Battle of the Bands where we won a live music recording session. From that recording the song Purple Dress was then used in the Ipswich City Council Castle Hill promotional video.
After using the live recording session as inspiration, we went into ‘The Shed’ recording studio and launched our first album at the end of 2017. They were quickly approached by the A&R Department and Marshmallow Records after listening to Stoned on JJJ Unearthed. After listening to the album, they shortlisted the 4 of the 9 tunes as potential single and picked Safety Man which was well received. Safety Man and all of the other songs from the album received and are still receiving airplay in Australia and internationally.
The Viable continue to write music and play gigs and are repeatedly asked back by popular demand!
