The Unbelievable Truth
Named after the cult film by American auteur filmmaker Hal Hartley, The Unbelievable Truth is a project begun by Bradley Hunter in 2011. Bradley is periodically joined by guest musicians to record and perform songs he has written and performed with various bands from 2005 to the present..
Through a fusion of 80s Post-Punk and New Wave, and 90s Grunge he draws on the diverse influences of artist such as Nick Cave, Mick Thomas, Lloyd Cole, Hunters & Collectors, Ed Kuepper, The Cure, Joy Division, and Billy Bragg. He focuses on writing storytelling lyrics that are passionate and heartfelt, accompanied by strong vocal melodies and uncomplicated rhythms and chord progressions.
Bradley has performed in Perth and Melbourne since 2005, solo and with bands, at many venues, including The Railway Hotel (Fremantle), Fly by Night Club (Fremantle), The Castle (Perth), Hyde Park Hotel (Perth), The Tote (Melbourne), The Brunswick Hotel (Melbourne), Tago Mago (Melbourne), Mr Boogie Man (Melbourne).
In the current line-up he is accompanied by Colin Trott on drums and Hermann Carrasco and/or Jae Rowbotham on bass.
