Band Bio:

Koahlition is Far North Queenslands’ premier Reggae band. With a list of great Ska and Reggae songs including their original works, Koahlition have been a festival favourite in Far North Queensland for many years. Kuranda Roots Festival, Cairns Festival, Collaborations Festival, Wallaby Creek festival to name a few.

Koahlition have also supported top Australian bands the most recent being The Melbourne Ska Orchestra at the Tanks in Cairns in September 2018, Nicky Bomba also in 2018, and many other artists including Chris Tamwoy, Blue King Brown. In August 2018 the band released it’s latest single “Rastaman Inside” a tribute song to the legendary Bob Marley.

The bands original compositions speak of social and political issues, though come across with messages of hope with a touch of humour. The band loves to get the crowd up Ska dancing and having fun or just enjoying the harmonies and skill of the musicians.

Band members are a mix of indigenous and multicultural Australians which portray a realness of the people of Far Norther Australia and the Torres Strait Islands which influence their music. Reggae music has been adopted by the island nations including Australia and New Zealand and Koahlition have been pioneers in the music scene in that region.
